Medical Disclaimer
The information and calculators on BMI Tracker are provided for general educational purposes only and are not medical advice.
A BMI result tells you which broad range your height and weight fall into. It does not measure body fat directly, does not account for muscle, and does not diagnose any health condition. It should never be used as the sole basis for a health decision.
Not a substitute for professional care
Nothing on this Site is intended to replace professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always seek the advice of your physician or other qualified healthcare provider with any questions you may have regarding a medical condition or your weight. Never disregard professional medical advice or delay seeking it because of something you read here.
No diagnosis or treatment plans
We do not provide diagnoses, weight-loss prescriptions, or treatment plans. If you are considering changes to your diet, activity, or health routine, please discuss them with a qualified professional who knows your history.
Adults versus children and teens
The adult BMI categories used on most pages apply to people aged 20 and older. For children and teens aged 2-19, BMI must be interpreted using age- and sex-specific BMI-for-age percentiles. Our child BMI calculator explains this and points to the official CDC tool.
Emergencies
If you think you may have a medical emergency, call your doctor or your local emergency number immediately.
